Welcome to Promise Land, the preschool ministry at First Baptist Church!
We welcome children from birth to 4 years old for our Sunday morning worship services and Wednesday evening activities. Our #1 goal is to make sure that your child is cared for in a safe and loving environment. Our volunteers and teachers are dedicated to giving your child lots of love and helping them learn about the Lord Jesus Christ. It is important to lay the foundation of faith in Jesus at an early age. Here at FBC, we know the importance of offering your child the opportunity to hear Bible stories, learn scripture verses and worship Jesus through songs. Our curriculum comes from Discipleland, where it is our hope that your child will learn through the many wonderful Bible stories what it means to become a disciple for Jesus.

Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings, children can come to Promise Land, allowing parents of preschoolers to attend our Bible study classes or worship services distraction free. Preschool Care is offered through a cooperative effort between the parents of preschoolers. Parents who regularly use the childcare during either worship service are assigned times to work in Preschool Care. The schedule rotates so that parents will work only once every five to six weeks.

During the 9:30 Service, children 2 years old through pre-kindergarten enjoy a Bible study time. Our 2 year olds – prekindergarten children come together and have a worship time where we sing songs to praise the Lord Jesus and share scripture verses for that day. Our committed preschool teachers lead their classes in age-appropriate activities and Bible stories from the Discipleland curriculum. Kindergarten age children are considered part of the Children’s Ministry and attend Kidz on the Rock (Children’s Church). Children younger than 2 years old are cared for in a loving nursery setting. Children ages 1 and over, are given a snack during the 9:30 worship service. Parents should inform the childcare workers of any food allergies. Staff feed bottles to children, but cannot be responsible for feeding baby food/meals.

During the 11:00 Hour, our children ages 2–prekindergarten have the opportunity to take part in an interactive video series designed by KidMo. This cirriculum is video based and similar to the "Blues Clues" material. The KidMo Video gives the children an opportunity to worship Jesus through songs, practice a scripture verse and hear a Bible story. It is appealing to the preschoolers and gets them involved and active, while learning more about Jesus. Each series is 5 weeks long and the children enjoy singing songs and learning scripture verses and Bible stories in a very high energy video.

Evening Worship

Each Sunday Evening, choir meets at 6:00pm during the traditional school year for children in prekindergarten (age 4). During the summer months there is no childcare provided for the Sunday evening service unless there is a special event.

Wednesday Evenings

Mission Friends meets during the traditional school year for children in prekindergarten (age 4). Wednesday childcare is available for any preschoolers not enrolled in Mission Friends, if their parents are participating in any of the church’s Wednesday night activities. During the summer months, childcare is available for all preschoolers (Birth through 4 years old) whose parents are attending our church’s Wednesday night activities.

Church-Sponsored Events

Childcare is offered for the majority of our church-sponsored events (birth through 4 years old). Please contact the church office regarding the availability of childcare for any event you are interested in attending.
