Noah's Place

Welcome to Noah's Place, the preschool ministry at First Baptist Church!
We believe that a child's faith story begins at birth, so you won't hear us refer to what we do as "babysitting". We believe preschool ministry is much more than that. Even within our preschool ministry, we strive to fulfill the church's mission statement: "Helping People Become All That God Wants Them To Be." The preschool ministry at First Baptist Church is a multifaceted one. It provides a fertile mission field for those who are looking for a place to serve. It gives respite and training for young parents. And most importantly, it is often a child's first contact with the family of God outside of his or her own home. It is a place where babies and children learn that God, Who created them, is Lord of all there is to know. The loving and safe care given at Noah’s Ark can be a very positive first church experience for very young children.

Sunday Mornings

Childrcare is provided on Sunday mornings, allowing parents of preschoolers to attend our adult Bible Study classes or worship services distraction free. Preschool Care is offered through a cooperative effort between the parents of preschoolers. Parents who regularly use the childcare during either worship service are assigned times to work in Preschool Care. The schedule rotates so that parents will work only once every six weeks.

During the 9:30 hour, children 2-years-old through pre-kindergarten, enjoy a Bible Study time. Our committed preschool teachers lead their classes in age-appropriate activities, Bible stories, songs, and crafts that will teach and reinforce Biblical truths. Kindergarten age children are considered part of the Children's Ministry and attend Kidz on the Rock (Children's Church). Children younger than 2-years-old are cared for in a loving nursery setting. Children ages 1 and over, are given a snack during the 9:30 worship service. Parents should inform the childcare workers of any food allergies. Staff will feed bottles to children, but cannot be responsible for feeding baby food/meals.

During the 11:00 service, birth through 3 year olds enjoy a childcare setting. Our 4-year-olds enjoy a Preschool Worship hour. Worship music, story time and activities from the Veggie Connections curriculum make the hour a fun and faith-building one.

Evening Worship

To allow our members to worship distraction-free, an informal childcare setting is offered during the evening worship service (birth through 4 years old). The nursery opens at 5:45 and closes immediately after the worship service.

Wednesday Evenings

Preschool Choir meets during the traditional school year (3 yrs. +). Wednesday childcare is available for any preschoolers not enrolled in choir, if their parents are participating in any of the church’s Wednesday night activities. During the summer months, childcare is available for all preschoolers (birth through 4 years old) whose parents are attending our church’s Wednesday night activities.

Special Preschool Events

Special events designed with preschoolers in mind are held throughout the year. In past years we have held an Easter Egg Hunt and Angel Breakfast for our preschoolers. Similar events are offered each year.

Church-Sponsored Events

Childcare is offered for the majority of our church-sponsored events (birth through 4 years old). Please contact the church office regarding the availability of childcare for any event you are interested in attending.
