As we move through the 21st century, our vision is for First Baptist Church to develop a passion for prayer, giving, going, and doing World Missions. In consultation with Global Focus, Inc. and the International Mission Board and the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention we are developing a World Missions Strategy.

Our current mission emphasis includes the following:

Missions Groups

• Baptist Young Women, Women on Missions, Girls In Action (girls, grades 1-5) and Royal Ambassadors (boys, grades 1-5) are all mission groups that train and enable their members to do missions.
• Global Impact Celebration is a missions’ conference where we have the opportunity to develop personal relationships with missionaries from around the world.

 

Missions Financial Support

Cooperative Program
12% of our budget goes to support the programs and ministries of our Missouri Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. This includes support to the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the International Mission Board (IMB).

St. Louis Metro Baptist Association
2% of our budget helps join the work of approximately 120 churches and missions in the St. Louis Metro area.

Faith Missions Offering
An annual commitment to the Faith Missions Offering is made each year during our Global Impact Celebration. These commitments are then given over the course of the year and used to fund the following mission projects:

• Campus Crusade for Christ
• Church of St. Charles (A local church that works with area people that are in need)
• Dakota Mission Work
• International Missions, Home Missions & State Missions Offerings
• FBC Adult Short-Term Mission Trips and Projects
• Immanuel Baptist Church, Port au Prince, Haiti
• Hoina Ministries in India
